When we make mistakes, and take responsibility or accept fault for what has happened, it opens a line of communication to the Divine to work within us.

By definition a fault is an opening that allows the release of pressure that builds when two tectonic plates have stopped. Once the pressure has been released, the plates now can move again because the energy that has been released in the form of seismic waves has come through. But nothing can happen before those seismic waves have been released. And sometimes the result of the release is a blip on the screen, and sometimes it's a catastrophe. Seismic waves cause earthquakes and other natural disasters, such as tsunamis.

Sometimes the fault line in our lives release large waves and small waves. Some we will feel such as an intense earthquake, and others we will not take notice (such as an earthquake in an ocean on the other side of the world). But at all times, the fault has purpose and it is releasing pressure in your life.

No matter what is going on in your life, and the mistakes that you make, know that these things are necessary for you to become the person you were born to be. Learn from those mistakes and use that knowledge as an opportunity to prepare yourself for the next time. Because there will be a next time simply because you are living in a world of shifting plates.

Also remember that there is no getting around making mistakes and being at fault. We can only prepare ourselves to the best of our ability for the next time. Just as there are people who live in areas of the world that are right on top of fault lines such as people in California, they do not move - rather they take precautions.

They are engineers and architects charged with constructing buildings and plumbing systems that can accommodate shifts in the plates underneath the earth. You are the architect and engineer of your life, so design and build your life to accommodate shifting circumstances in your life. Jobs change, family structure change, relationship status change, where-you-live change, how-you-worship change, good change, bad change, LIFE CHANGE.

You can't prepare for everything, but you can be prepared to change. Be flexible. Stay in good spirits. Surround yourself with loving people. And always stay grounded in Faith.
